Abstract A high-sensitivity temperature sensor based on the harmonic Vernier effect is proposed and verified by experiments. The main component of a Sagnac interferometer consisting two sections polarization maintaining fibers (PMFs) spliced with an intersection angle 45° between their fast axes. achieved setting length one PMFs integral multiple ( i -times) other plus detuning factor.
